world religions

World Religions and Belief Traditions (HRT3M) explores how Rabbinic Judaism, Christianity and Islam expanded and evolved during the Middle Ages.

This course fulfills your requirement of taking a "Group 1" credit. There are no prerequisites.

HRT3M is a year course beginning in October.

We meet twice a week for 25 weeks, with all Jewish and civil holidays off.

Although we’d like you to start in October, you can join the course up until the end of November.

There are homework assignments that drop in Google Classroom at the beginning of each month that are due at the end of the month. Select one (or two, depending on the month) that interests you most.

There are no exams or tests.

As we approach the end of the year, we will meet to plan your Culminating work which will explore a topic you find compelling!

The Culminating is due at the end of June.

The clip above is the trailer of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. This 2023 addition to the Assassin’s Creed series is set in Golden Age of Baghdad under the venerated Caliph Harun al-Rashid.

How integrated were Jews into Muslim society during this period? How active were Jews in the massive advances in science, astronomy, medicine, philosophy, poetry and the arts?  In this course, we’ll address these question and so many more about how our tradition developed alongside our sibling religions.
